The Silvertip butterfly is a rare species found in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon and Washington. I’ll never forget the time, while lying naked beside a river, a kaleidoscope of Silvertips landed in unison over my bare skin. I lay there in awe, barely breathing for a moment before they took to the air, disappearing back into the mountain forest where they came from. This Yoniflower is an ode to that moment.

Painted in watercolor with the bright yellows and earthy reds of the Silvertip wing pattern. Reproduced on luscious watercolor paper using giclee printing technology. This archival print looks just like an original.
The “Erotic Botanicals” series evoke the watercolor studies of the Victorian naturalists, with a feminist twist. Each flower is given an invented “Latin” species name, as if it were a real botanical specimen.
